MAV Technology Awards for Excellence 2020 winners announced
The MAV Technology Awards for Excellence recognise outstanding team and individual efforts in the use of technology to improve service delivery and efficiency to local government organisations or communities.
This year, with so many deserving councils and projects in the running, the independent judging panel had some difficult decisions to make.
The MAV is thrilled to announce the award winners who were presented with their awards at an online event yesterday:
- Smart City Achievement of the Year - City of Whittlesea, Banyule City Council, Moreland City Council, Mitchell Shire Council and Nillumbik Shire Council for “Northern Melbourne Smart Cities Network, Enabling data to drive change”
- Collaboration or Partnership Achievement of the Year - City of Greater Geelong for “Geelong Data Exchange”
- Customer Experience Achievement of the Year - Frankston City Council for “Digital Ways of Working”
- Strategy and Planning Achievement of the Year - Alpine Shire Council for “Project Pinnacle”
- Victorian Achievement of the Year - Alpine Shire Council for “Project Pinnacle”
- Australian Achievement of the Year - Joint Winners: Queensland- - Sunshine Coast Council for “Sunshine Coast International Broadband Network (SCIBN)” and Victoria - Alpine Shire Council “Project Pinnacle”
MAV President Cr Coral Ross commended all finalists for their innovation, leadership and ground-breaking approaches.
“Technology improves service delivery by speeding up communications and increasing convenience, enabling councils to function more efficiently and effectively.
"All finalists demonstrated that they had made advancements in technology that would provide better outcomes for councils and their communities.
“We congratulate all our finalists and winners for their efforts and achievements and look forward to the further digitisation of the sector.”
